My name is Brandon Hull and I’ve worked from home for 20 years.

I’ve been in software and agency sales and executive leadership, as well as revenue operations. I am also an online faculty member at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

Several years back, I was on tap to become the face of my company’s internal and external software tutorial videos and webinars. This led to me needing to upgrade my work-from-home (WFH) setup so things looked a little more professional.

I had no idea what I was getting into. What a rabbit hole.

Thankfully my company had an in-house video editor and designer who knew his stuff. This Ukrainian genius was a great guy. He gave me a checklist of hardware and software upgrades to make — but was careful not to drive me broke.

Over time, I made other inexpensive upgrades here and there after watching some tutorial videos that he sent me. Compared to the typical WFH setup, yes it’s over-the-top. Compared to a YouTuber, it’s very modest.

And if you’re curious how I built this website, I didn’t! No Wordpress, no complicated website to design or setup for hosting. I simply connect and update a Google Sheet that is connected to an inexpensive service called Sheetany. Yes, that’s an affiliate link. But it only took me about 20 minutes to build this, so I can’t endorse them highly enough.
